Reg Russom Memorial Drawing Prize
In partnership with the Hunter TAFE Foundation, ArtsNational Newcastle will for three years (2004-2006) sponsor the Reg Russom Memorial Drawing Prize. First established by TAFE in 1952 in honour of celebrated Newcastle TAFE teacher and artist/illustrator Reg Russom, the prize was offered annually until 2019.
The 2024 award was presented on Wednesday 21 August at the TAFE Newcastle Art School on Hunter St. First prize was awarded to Laura Baker, a student in the Advanced Diploma Visual Arts. All student entries and some by Reg Russom were on display in the first floor gallery.
